Consultant Biography
Dr Agata Grasso was trained in Italy and London (Hammersmith Hospital). While at the Hammersmith Hospital she completed her MD research project in cardiac imaging and heart failure. Immediately after obtaining her specialisation in cardiology she worked at the Pitie’ Salpetriere in Paris expanding further her experience of Heart Failure, valve disease and cardiac imaging.
Between 2003 and 2006 she worked as Consultant Cardiologist with interest in imaging in Alba (Turin, Italy) before moving to London in 2006 where she worked at the Royal Brompton Hospital within the CMR department and cardiomyopathy/heart failure clinics (2006-2011). During that time she was actively involved in several research projects focused on cardiomyopathy, IHD, heamochromatosis. She left the RBH in 2011 to work as Locum Consultant at the Royal Free Hospital as general cardiologist with interest in imaging, heart failure and valve disease. While at the RFH she had the privilege to work as well at the National Amyloid Centre to support the centre from a cardiac and imaging (echocardiography) point of view.
In 2014 she was appointed Consultant Cardiologist with interest in imaging (echo, DSE, TOE, CMR)in Frimley Health (Wexham Park Hospital site) taking the lead of the Heart Failure service.
Since January 2016 she’s been Consultant Cardiologist with interest in Heart Failure and Imaging at The Royal Free Hospital leading changes and improvements in one of the biggest NHS trust in London after the merger with Barnet and Brent.
Dr Agata Grasso is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physician, BSE and EACVI member.
